How technology speaks
the language of human value?

I find the answer in User Experience, where logic and creativity intersect to deliver meaningful impact.

My Background:

Growing up, I was shaped by the unique blend of my father’s logical, scientific mindset as an engineer and my mother’s creative perspective as an art teacher. Together, they encouraged me to see the world through both artistic and analytical lenses.

This upbringing sparked my fascination with how technology connects with people. I've constantly questioned: How do numbers, code, formulas, and algorithms translate into meaning and value for us?

This led me to UX - a field where logic and creativity merge in the most active and impactful way.

With this foundation, I discovered my calling: to understand technology and data and transform them into human-centered value and joy as an product designer.

My Philosophy 1: Resilience

I believe failure isn’t really failure as long as we keep trying. As long as we’re still moving, learning, and pushing forward, it’s not the end.

I’ve been fortunate to achieve some exciting milestones- placing 4th in a global AI creativity competition featured in The New York Times, presenting in Europe, publishing as a first author in an HCI journal, and representing Asia at a major hackathon.

But before that, there were two failed AI data application competitions and three rejected papers. Each time, I improved, redefined approach, and tried again. That persistence eventually set our team apart, even among top researchers.

Life is a series of ups and downs. As long as we stay resilient, take on challenges, and keep the right people close, there’s always another jump ahead.

My Philosophy 2: Power of Connecting the Dots

As an undergraduate student majoring in Interaction Design, I never imagined the scale of today’s AI boom. But as a designer, I have urge to understand the data and mechanisms behind the products I design. So, outside of my coursework, I started exploring big data analysis and AI on my own.

At first, it felt unrelated to UX design. But as generative AI became a new business requirement, understanding data and AI principles turned out to be a powerful asset that significantly empowered my design work

  • I became a powerful communicator and collaborate seamlessly with engineers.

  • In UX research, where qualitative data is dominant, I learned to translate qualitative insights into quantitative and statistical analysis, making my design decisions more persuasive.

I love working on fun, silly, and challenging projects, and I’m always excited to see what new doors they might open for me in the future!

Outside of my work

I enjoy running and make it a regular part of my routine! I completed a 10K in 2023, and my dream is to run a full marathon one day!

JOURNALING

Love every part of journaling! The moment ink touches a blank page is exciting, but the process of putting thoughts into words on paper goes beyond that. It captures fleeting ideas, visualizes them, and helps deepen my thinking.

I love baking silly cakes and sharing them during the holidays!

Check out my previous creations: Fallen Snowman, Strawberry Santa, and a vanilla cake.
